a lifelong Vision of campus & community
In 1933, during the depth of the Great Depression, four families gathered with a vision to reach University of Illinois students with the message of Jesus Christ. Since then, the church they founded has remained committed to that vision of this campus and community being brought together in Christ to make a difference for God’s kingdom throughout the world.
After finding temporary homes in several buildings around the U of I campus, Twin City Bible Church settled at the corner of Lincoln and Michigan in Urbana in 1960. As the church family and staff grew, additional space was added to accommodate children’s classrooms, youth ministry, expanding church gatherings, and campus ministry meetings. A second site was launched in Champaign’s Midtown area in 2012, where it lived out TCBC’s mission on the northwest corner of campus for seven years. Since remerging as a single site in 2018, TCBC remains committed to that same mission: to see campus and community transformed by Christ to renew the world.
