What's an effective way to

What's an effective way to bear one another's burdens?  It seems that most christians are content with just praying for one another's problems, and not really doing anything meaningful to help solve them.  Most of the time when christians share prayer requests they are surface level prayers that almost anyone would benefit from.  I liked the point that was made about how most burdens are a result of sin, and a lot of times we are afraid to share those burdens for reasons of shame and guilt.  This relates to the other point made which is that we should be willing to let others bear our burdens.  This can be difficult when we are programed to say that everything is fine when asked how was your day, even if everything is not fine.  Anyone else agree?
