Plan for Growth
The June 13 “plan for growth” directional vote indicated support to keep moving forward on both developing a specific plan for a second site and developing a specific plan for expansion of ministry at our current location. What’s next? We are focusing our attention on two areas that can be summarized with these terms: listen & learn, and invite & involve.
Listen and Learn
1. Our most critical next step is to continue to pray and listen to God. Our confidence is in him. TCBC is his church and so we need to learn more about his heart for us.
2. We also want to continue to listen to one another and learn from one another. One specific way you might be able to help us with this: If you voted ‘no’ regarding moving forward with developing second site or current location plans, we want to listen to you. Please consider joining 2 or 3 leaders on Thursday, July 8, at 7:00 p.m. in the TCBC Fellowship Hall for an informal time of hearing from you. Our purpose is not to put you on the spot or to try to persuade you to think differently. We want to learn from your perspective. We’ll even serve you dessert as a way to say “thank you” for participating in this conversation! If you are unable to make it to this meeting but are willing to share your thoughts, please let me know.
Invite and Involve
1. We are now forming teams to work on developing specific plans for a second site and for expansion of ministry at our current location. We invite you to consider being part of one of these teams. If you are interested, please contact me using this link.
2. Our desire is to involve the whole congregation in this process of moving forward as God guides us. In the coming months, we will ask you to participate in various ways, including considering the specific role God has for you in the “plan for growth.” We need one another to fully be the church God intends.
I am eager to see what God has in store for TCBC! He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us (Eph. 3:20).
