Our mission: To be a Christ-centered church where community and campus come together to make a difference for God’s Kingdom throughout the world.
As we pursue this mission, we are driven by these Core Values:
God through his Spirit does the work of growing us. Our role is to respond to God as he reveals himself to us, transforms us, and leads us in his design for our lives. God’s key means of revelation is through his Word, the Bible. We will grow as disciples & help others grow as disciples of Christ as we seek God together through his Word and help one another live out his Word.
God has given this church unique opportunities that arise from our university setting. We have a wonderful mix of community people and college students, and we are committed to growing together in worship and service. As we blend “the wisdom of the old with the passion of the young,” God will use TCBC for widespread impact. We come together around our common mission: to influence our campus, our community, and our world for God’s Kingdom.
God calls his people to be characterized by a Christ-centered unity in a world increasingly marked by fragmentation and division. God is bringing to TCBC people from a variety of backgrounds, ethnicities, and life-stages. We are committed to doctrinal purity while being a community of grace. We pursue oneness around the essentials of our faith (as outlined in our Statement of Doctrine and Faith) while valuing the diversity God brings.
God is at work through a wide variety of ministries, giving each a unique mission that contributes to how he is building his Kingdom. We will be much more effective as we work together, valuing one another’s strengths and complementing each other in ministry. We are committed to developing partnerships with other ministries and churches, fulfilling our niche as we together work to make a difference for God’s Kingdom.
God desires to grow disciples of Christ who are thoughtfully and compassionately engaging our needy world with the gospel. Because we minister in a transient, university community, God has given us the opportunity to serve the worldwide Church as an equipping and sending station. We want to invest in the development of people who are part of TCBC even for just a few years and then send them on to what God has for them next. We also believe God calls all of us to live daily as “sent ones”—effective and intentional ambassadors for Christ in our spheres of influence.
